Bloomin Mad Flowers has been an integral piece of Anketell Street since 2012, a local go-to for custom made, bespoke flower arrangements, unique gifts, artisan handmade chocolates and much, much more!
Our Brick-and-Mortar storefront has had several major milestones in the last few years. Including multiple ownership and management changes… as well as being nominated for ‘Most Outstanding Florist’ at the Local Business Awards in 2024, 2025 and 2026 and WINNING in 2024.
Bloomin Mad Flowers is a disability-friendly and LGBTQ+ friendly business, creating beautiful, fresh floral arrangements for everyone.
Since changing ownership in 2025, the business has blossomed into a favourite among customers across Canberra.

My Story
In 2025, I began working at Bloomin Mad Flowers a couple of days a week, with no formal training and little knowledge of floristry. I quickly fell in love with the business and, seeing its potential, took on ownership while beginning part-time study at the age of 44.
My vision was to create a welcoming sanctuary—a place where people could step away from the demands of the outside world and enjoy beautiful, fresh flowers.
A Space for Everyone
Creating an inclusive and accessible space has always been a priority for me. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and several other chronic illnesses in 2007, and I have faced many health challenges since then.
At the time of my diagnosis, I believed my dream of becoming a florist was over. When the opportunity arose in 2025, however, I knew I had to persevere and follow that dream.

What We Do
Our online store focuses on one of a kind, unique floral arrangements for all occasions. We aim to use as much locally sourced/ locally grown fresh floral materials as possible to keep in line with our efforts to be a sustainable floral studio. At Bloomin Mad Flowers, you won’t find two arrangements the same. We believe that like in nature, each gift and its meaning is unique. In our brick-and-mortar gift store we have a floral display which we keep stocked with seasonal foliage and flowers in every colour of the rainbow. Our designs are often inspired by nature and gardens, they’re often textual and reminiscent of a cottage style garden. One of the highlights of coming to our Anketell Street store is getting to watch us design and style your floral arrangement – with you and your recipient in mind
